CM Tirath Singh Rawat Announced to Free 51 Temples From Government Control

Uttarakhand BJP Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat overturned another decision of the Trivendra government by freeing 51 temples of Uttarakhand from the clutches of the government!

The Rawat government first took cognizance of the demand by the people or sages – saints to free the temple running in the country from government occupation.

In a meeting organized by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad with the Chief Minister, the saints of all the akharas demanded the cannibalization of the Devasthanam Board in its entirety.

During the meeting, Tirath Singh Rawat assured all the over 700 sages present in the meeting that his government would revisit the Char Dham Devasthanam Board for the management and control of the temples in the direction of bringing them out of the ‘Devasthanam Act’ Is working

Currently, he has assured to free 51 other temples including Char Dham; Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, Badrinath in the state.

He also decided to completely stop the sale of liquor in Haridwar, in view of the ongoing demand for liquor detainees.

BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP, former Union Cabinet Minister Subramanian Swamy, praised the state government’s decision, saying,

“So before I could argue the SLP I had filed on the Uttarakhand temple take-over issue the government has withdrawn the Act and freed 51 temples. This is called responsive government in a democracy”.

Sadhguru also thanked Tirath Singh for this decision.
